Skip Hire Terms and Conditions

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SKIP HIRE


  • HIRE PERIOD : You can hire the skip from 1 day up to a maximum of 3 weeks. No costs will be incurred if you do wish to extend the hire beyond 3 weeks - but please make sure you inform us if you did want to do this.
  • COLLECTION OF THE SKIP : We do not automatically collect the skip without prior notice to say it is finished with. Therefore , please let us know as soon as the skip is ready. Unfortunately , we cannot "pre-book" collections due to being so busy , so please allow up to 5 working days for collection , from the date you first inform us it is ready. We will always aim to collect your skip ASAP.
  • WASTED JOURNEYS : If we try to delivery , exchange or collect the skip and cannot gain access then a wasted journey charge of £70 will be applied. This is to cover the fuel and drivers time. Please let us know as soon as possible if there are any access restrictions.
  • LOADING THE SKIP : Please ensure that the waste in the skip does not exceed more than 1 foot above the height (lip) of the skip. We will not collect or exchange skips which have been over filled. Our drivers need to make sure the skips are safe for the road and other road users , therefore please ensure there are no overhanging objects or anything loose which can fall off whilst on the road. If the driver feels that the load will be unsafe to take on the road he may unload items to rectify it or leave the skip in place until the customer has rectified it. This will be at the drivers discretion.
  • YOUR PROPERTY : Our vehicles can weigh up to a maximum of 18 tonnes , please ensure your drive can withstand this - we do not take responsility for any damage incurred for the vehicle / skip being on the drive. If however , damage is caused by the driver which was a result of negligence then please contact us straight away by email (skips@ollertonskiphire.co.uk) and forward details as well as photos - this will be investigated straight away.
  • ROOM FOR THE SKIP : Please ensure you have enough room for the skip to fit on your property , we cannot leave skips which are overhanging the pavement / highway or any other forms of public / vehicle right of way
  • MOVING THE SKIP : Our drivers place the skips in the most suitable place for them to gain access safely. Under no circumstances should the skips be moved from where they have been placed. If we come to collect the skip and cannot due to it being moved , then a wasted journey charge will be applied and removal will not take place until the skip has been put back to where it was placed initially.
  • ACCEPTABLE WASTES : Please ensure you have read our SKIP HIRE GUIDE which details the waste which can and cannot be placed in our skips. If we find waste which is unacceptable within your skip , we will contact you to either collect the waste from the disposal site or charges for the safe disposal will be applied. If you are unsure about any waste which can be placed in the skip then please contact us first.
  • CANCELLATION : The only time we will charge for cancellation of a skip is if we have been notified either after closing hours the day before delivery or on the day of scheduled delivery. The charge applies to cover our costs for refunds and admin - the total cost will be £10 in these circumstances.
